CIT Advisory Board Meeting Agenda April 14, 2008

Reminder: Today's Advisory Board meeting will be held in the CIT Lab, lower level of Bostock Library, Room 024

1. Announcements

Notes from last meeting are posted – let me know if you have corrections or additions.

- CIT Annual Showcase April 24, 2008
We have a great program lined up. Please encourage your colleagues to attend. Registration at:  http://cit.duke.edu/showcase/2008/

- CIT grants are still pending. Consultants have had multiple conversations to clarify proposals. We should have details on how CIT will
help support these projects in a few weeks.

2.  OIT Help Desk Feedback

Guest: Kevin Davis
Kevin is leading a project to analyze the Help Desk/frontline support operations and propose modernizations and improvement needed to best meet
today’s Duke community needs. Kevin is seeking your feedback on:
- how well or not the support services currently meet your needs.
- from a blue sky perspective -- if we could reinvent and transform frontline support services in any way tomorrow, what would the "perfect"
campus help desk look like to you?

Discussion:

3. Early ideas about next year’s Duke Digital Initiative programs

Guest: Samantha Earp
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) conducted faculty focus groups last month
and reviewed technology trends in industry and higher education as part of their planning for next year’s activities in the Duke Digital Initiative.
Our preliminary plans are to offer a number of programs around the use of video to increase the effectiveness of sharing ideas and information; to
capture classroom activities, special events and student projects; and to increase access to and the usefulness of digital content. We will show you
a few of the emerging tools that may be of interest in the year ahead.

Discussion:

4.  See you in the fall!

This is our last meeting until late August/early September.
