New Faculty Open House

CIT presents an Open House and demonstrations to encourage new Duke faculty to learn about CIT and Perkins Library and how we can support them in their teaching. The session is designed to allow attendees to drop in and stay as long as they like. We'll have demonstration and hand-on explorations set up, refreshments and beverages available throughout the afternoon, ample time for networking, and the following short presentations:

Prezi: Professor Helen Gordon uses small group presentation and active learning techniques to increase engagement and promote retention in her course. She encourages students to look for innovative ways to present their ideas. Come hear from one of her students about her perspective on the course and her experience with Prezi.com, a different type of presentation software.

ePortfolio: Professor Sharon Hawks and the CRNA program are implementing an ePortfolio system in the coming semester. Hear her research and experience about this emerging learning and assessment strategy.
