This program is designed to support the creation or digitization of digital course materials such as audio, video or images. CIT provides project planning assistance for the project and develops the initial "proof of concept" digital course materials, with feedback from the applicant.. After the "proof of concept" materials have been approved, CIT may provide further production assistance, or may provide training and access to equipment to enable the applicant to complete the project with minimal assistance. In all cases, CIT provides guidance on integrating digital course materials with campus instructional technology tools.
Note: All materials development requests are subject to a copyright review.
Full time Duke faculty and instructors

If the request is approved, the faculty member will be expected to do the following during the materials production or "proof of concept" process:
Applications can be submitted anytime, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis; application reviews can take up to 4 work weeks. If a request is accepted, work will be scheduled depending on our existing production calendar and CIT staff and student worker availability. CIT can not guarantee a particular start time for materials production work, but in general, the longer the lead-time on applications, the better.
This program does not provide a monetary award. CIT provides project management and technical expertise as well as student worker time necessary to complete materials development projects.
Applications will be reviewed based on feasibility, compliance with copyright guidelines, fit with established Duke best practices for production and use of digital course materials, potential pedagogical impact, fit with department and university strategic goals, fit with CIT resources and availability, scalability, and other factors.
