Duke Center for Instructional Technology Strategic Plan for 2007-2011
The CIT’s major goals for 2007 – 2011 are to:
- Serve as a trusted source of information about academic technology use at Duke and faculty instructional technology needs and advocate for meeting those needs in the university's technology infrastructure.
- Increase faculty awareness of instructional technologies and how to use them via more customized, just-in-time information.
- Share expertise in and facilitate community around technological and pedagogical aspects of instructional technologies.
- Provide opportunities for faculty to explore new technologies in their teaching and support them in assessing the effectiveness of their efforts.
- Foster collaboration and connection in technology planning for University projects and strategic initiatives.
Duke Center for Instructional Technology Strategic Plan for 2004-2007
For 2004-2007, CIT focused on these five key areas:
- Generating ideas about how technology can support teaching and improve learning
- Encouraging innovation in instructional technology through a mixture of incentives
and project support
- Connecting technology plans and services at Duke through participation in a
variety of committees, groups and projects
- Building partnerships beyond Duke to leverage resources and exchange ideas
- Learning what works best in instructional technology through diverse research and
evaluation activities.
