CIT Evaluation Approaches
The CIT web site houses a variety of CIT reports evaluating its funding programs and other initiatives from 1999 to the present. Also, our project examples frequently contain information about how these projects were assessed.
CIT evaluation strategies
To best meet the needs of faculty in developing feasible assessment plans for their projects, CIT usually advocates the following approaches:
- Mixed-method approach - combining qualitative and quantiative data, such as advocated by NSF in their User-Friendly Handbook for Project Evaluation
- Logic models - creating a program logic model is often a helpful took for understanding how goals and outcomes are connected. W.K. Kellogg foundation offers an excellent guide to developing logic models.
