What Is It?
Duke Wiki, http://wiki.duke.edu, is a wiki that is available for groups at Duke University and is supported by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). A wiki is a website that is collaboratively authored by a group of users. The wiki site keeps track of the changes by contributing authors and makes it easy to roll back to earlier versions. At its basic, editing a wiki page is like editing a word processing document. The Duke Wiki has many sophisticated features including the ability to upload PDF and MS Word documents and link to them from within your wiki pages.
How Does It Work?
To request a wiki space from OIT, click here. In its current version, wiki pages can only be edited by people with Duke Net Ids. The wiki pages are viewable by anyone, even people who are not affiliated with Duke or the wiki pages can be made restrictive and viewable only by particular Duke affiliates.

Things to consider
OIT has policies about which groups are permitted to create wiki pages. OIT will inform you of these guidelines when you apply for a site.
