Join your colleagues on March 29, 2017 to learn what Duke Divinity School is doing in distance learning!

Duke Divinity incorporates hybrid learning models in several degree program offerings, including the Doctor of Ministry degree and the Master of Arts in Christian Practice. After the overview, we’ll have a discussion on the authoring tool Articulate Storyline (see Lynda.com for Duke to learn more).

Our spring DE SIG @Duke meetings will be hosted on-site by a specific Duke school/department and will offer an overview of their online courses and programs. Topics addressed will range from managing online programs – processes, technologies, and instructional design, to quality assurance, program evaluation, student and faculty satisfaction, and emerging trends in online teaching and learning.

By visiting Duke DE programs this spring, we have an opportunity to learn from one another, share resources, and learn how to better support programs from the administrator and faculty perspective.

The Distance Education Special Interest Group (DE SIG @Duke) is open to anyone at Duke with an interest in online teaching and learning. We focus on program administration, pedagogy, instructional design, and learning technologies. Group membership includes online program administrators, faculty, instructional designers, educational technologists, e-Learning developers, and IT leaders.

Sophia collaborates with faculty to provide pedagogical and academic technology consulting, training, and project management, for campus-based and online initiatives. She consults on innovative teaching practices across academic disciplines, and works with faculty on course planning, course design and development, and assessment strategies. Her research interests include global online education, instructional design, faculty development, distance education, and international learners.
