Michael leads the eLearning Tools and Strategy team focusing on the intersection of learning and technology and providing the best tools, platforms, and collaborations for the university. He evaluates new teaching and learning technologies for the university and reviews Duke’s current learning technology ecosystem for improvements.

Before joining CIT, Michael was previously an Assistant Professor of IT/Discipline Lead for Rappahannock Community College where he focused on delivering high quality, engaging educational experiences in online, hybrid, and traditional courses in information literacy and web design. Before that he was the college’s Web Solutions Specialist, managing and implementing web-based IT projects across the college. Michael holds a M.S. in IT Management and Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. in Web Design from Radford University.
